Based on correlated theories,regarding 103 middle school students in Maesot Thailand as the respondents,this paper will research the Learning Motivation and Strategy of Thai Overseas Chinese middle school students as well as the correlation between the Learning Motivation and Learning Strategies,which could help improving their Chinese proficiency.Questionnaire is adopted as the main methods in this paper,besides quantitative method and interview are used to analyze the data investigated in this paper.After the research,we conclude the results as follows: Firstly,Learning Motivation of the students in Maesot Thailand is in the medium level,during which passive motivation is most strong.Secondly,Learning Strategy is not usually used by the students and the kind of Learning Strategy used by different students is quite different.Thirdly,the higher Grade is,the more significant influence from Integrative and Instrumental Motivation is,the smaller influence from Interest Motivation is,but the influence from Passive Motivation is as usual.In order to solve the problems found during the research,here come some advises: Firstly,help students be aware of the Learning Motivation and Strategy.Secondly,set up a Student-centered class,in which the teacher should stimulate the Learning Motivation of the students and improve the ability of the students to use Learning Strategy with kinds of in-class and extracurricular activities.These advice will help Chinese teachers improve the Chinese proficiency of Chinese-Thai Chinese learners. |
