Chinese idioms,which are an important part of Chinese vocabulary system,are frequently used in oral language.But due to its complexity and particularity,the teaching on Chinese idioms is always a difficult subject on TCSL(Teaching Chinese as a Second Language).How to teach Chinese idioms to South Korean students,especially during the Chinese oral courses not in the target language environment,but in South Korea,and how to make them not only understand Chinese idioms more effectively but also use Chinese idioms to communicate flexibly is the main concern of this thesis.Literature method and questionnaire method and statistical analysis method are used in the thesis as to analyze the Teaching of Chinese Idioms during the Chinese Oral Courses in the Confucious Institute of Kyung Hee University in South Korea.The thesis is made up of five parts.The first part is the preface,it introduces the origin of selecting the topic and the meaning of the research.It also summarizes the previous relevant study and introduces the contents of the paper and the the research methods.The second part summarizes the concepts of the Chinese idioms and tells the opinions on the current controversy of the idioms.The third part analyzes the current situation of Chinese idioms teaching in the Confucious Institute of Kyung Hee University in South Korea,including the analysis on the Chinese teacher and the textbooks used during the oral classes.The forth part based on the analysis of the current teaching situation puts out the problems and gives the suggestions both on the textbooks and the teaching activities.The fifth part is the last part of this paper,tells the conclusions and shortcomings of the paper.
