In the field of urban writing of modern Chinese women writers,Eileen Chang led the nomination of "Zhang Pai".In this lineage,Wang Anyi and Zhu Tianwen on different sides of the strait were called Eileen Chang's typical "successors" by Wang Dewei. To have a more meticulous exploration into the close relationship of three writers,we will find that Wang Anyi following Eileen Chang became the writer who wrote the Shanghai city pulse, and Zhu Tianwen more consciously inherited "Zhang cavity" to write the contemporary Taipei's bustling. There are also significant differences behind the associations:Eileen Chang was born in the semi colonial and semi feudal period, and had a combination of noble heritage and ordinary interest, steeped by "Red Mansions" and affected by Western cultures;Wang Anyi grew up in the period of socialism, with Russian literature reading accumulation;Zhu Tianwen born out of "Zhang Pai" has rich experiences of the post-industrial civilization. These differences also formed the following creative differences: as for secular daily life, under Eileen Chang's pen it was the tragedy of life salvation,Wang Anyi set a warm tone, city people in Zhu Tianwen's urban writing refuse to daily life.In the context of the daily sadness and the conflict,Eileen Chang and Wang Anyi conveyed the groans and struggles of the people who were in the middle of the turn of a new and old society as well as the dilemma of Chinese and western cultures and the self-loss and self-sufficiency of the individual and ethnic conflict,Zhu Tianwen emphasized the confusion and loss of individuals and the mainstream discord in human. All of them involved in the ultimate "eschatology." Eileen Chang as a "reviewer" projected her anxieties after seeing through the emptiness and desolation,Wang Anyi as a warm "humanitarian" still held hope in the void,Zhu Tianwen because of her resistance to "modernity" fell into the mental anxiety. All of them paid attention to women survival difficulties.Eileen Chang's urban women fall into the whirlpool of "making a living" and "seeking love".In Wang Anyi's works, the urban women were tortured by "making a living" to "seeking love".Zhu Tianwen's urban women are trying to get rid of male mythology to the brink of danger. In the microcosmic study of the female body,Eileen Chang saw the female body's "plaything" nature,Wang Anyi's new era of women liberated the taboo of the flesh,Zhu Tianwen sees the post-industrial female exploited their bodies to the extremity. There are also differences among their mother tongue creation characteristics.Eileen Chang mixed the classical tradition and modern spirits and absorbed the writing style of "Red Mansions" to create a unique "Zhang cavity";Wang Anyi formed the classical tradition based on "Zhang cavity",making it more solemn and abstract;Zhu Tianwen influenced by "Red Mansions" 's writing style like Eileen Chang, and her inheritance of classicism is more gorgeous and brilliant. In the aspect of image narrative,Eileen Chang had a liking for the superposition of image rhetoric, and Wang Anyi is an advocate of the direct realistic narrative combined with imagery narratives.Zhu Tianwen has both imagery narratives and fragmented narratives which is deviated from "Zhang cavity".
