In recent years, executive function has gradually become a hot research topic in the field of children's cognitive development.More and more researchers are involved in this field, however, the results of the study have not yet reached an agreement. The object of study is mostly based on the separation of preschool age,the 4-to 7 year old kindergarten to the primary school transitional phase of the study is rarely touched.Prospective memory is also the focus of psychological research. The results show that the ability of prospective memory is affected by the level of executive function, but the number of related studies is less and the results are inconsistent. The purpose of this study was to investigate the development and characteristics of executive function in children aged 4 to 7 years, and to explore the relationship between executive function and prospective memory. Methods 150 children aged from 4 to 7 years were selected as experimental subjects.4 experiments were used to investigate the executive function and prospective memory. The results revealed that:(1)There are significant age differences in the development of executive function in children aged 4 to 7,and the overall trend of development is increasing with age.Inhibition control in the entire 4 ~ 7 years of age are in constant development,in the age of 4 to 5 years old and the age of 6 to 7 years, the development is more rapid.Working memory is also growing with age,in the 4 to 5 years old and the age of 6to 7 years, the development is more rapid.Cognitive flexibility in 4 ~ 5 years is in rapid development, and the development of 5~7 years old was slow.(2)There was no significant gender effect in the three sub components of executive function, and there was no interaction between age and gender.(3)the main age effect of prospective memory in children aged from 4 to 7 was significant,4~5 years old developed rapidly, and the development of 5~7 years old was slow;(4)After controlling age factors, there was a significant positive correlationbetween the two components of working memory and cognitive flexibility.
