Analysis Of Note-taking Problem In Consecutive Interpreting

With the development of the society and the economy,consecutive interpretation is widely applied to some international activities and large meetings.Therefore,interpreters need to have the solid bilingual foundation,master the interpreting skills and use the note-taking skills flexibly.This report is selected from the first financial technology innovation conference,Shenzhen and University Round Table Discussion.Based on the previous experience,the author systematically summarizes the problems of note-taking in Chinese to English consecutive interpreting,and provides some suggestions for the similar interpreting practice in the future.In consecutive interpreting,mastering the note-taking skills helps the interpreter supplement their memory,and facilitate the logic of sentence structure at the same time.Due to the differences between English and Chinese thinking habits,huge difference in sentence structures appeared.Therefore,note-taking methods attract extensive attention to worldwide scholars.While taking notes,interpreters should write down key information and analyze the logic relationship.So in this context,there are some questions to be solved: what are the key points in note-taking? How to divide the sense-group and analyze the logical relationship? How to choose proper note-taking and writing style? In order to solve these problems,some solutions have been put forward.For example: highlight the key information,forming concise notes system,practice how to take note of figures and so on.All methods were combined with specific case analysis.In this paper,the theory is integrated with the practice.The author creatively summarized some special symbols and made well preparation before interpretation.By using the note-taking method,self-examination and reparation was made according to the semantic perspective.The evaluation in the end improved the interpreter's skills and interpretation quality.Through the study in the whole process of interpretation,the author summarizes some methods worth learning,and provides valuable experience for future interpretation.
