The book translated by translator is a century of cultural conflict(1895-1995),which is a book about Chinese higher education and a part of the international educational research.The content of the book is mainly that how Chinese education catch up with the world's level of education,how Chinese education reform the school system of hierarchical complexity to form a effective institutional mechanism,how Chinese government handle the competition between the public and private schools to promote the development of higher education and further research problems.In the process of translation,translator found that the text analyze the nature of Chinese of higher education from the point of view of history with method of comparative education in the comparison of western and Chinese education.So in the process of translation,translator focus on clarifying the context of the history mentioned in the text.Translator made reference to some historical events in relation to this book story and some of Europe and the United States educational book to enhance the understanding of the text.The emphasis of translation is the understanding of the Law of Chinese educational development.In order to convey it to the reader,I read the book over and over again until I understand the authentic meaning of the author,then I begin translating it.In the process of translation,with the guidance of Skopos theory,translator study the application of Skopos Theory in the translation of words,sentences and texts.Translator uses the the translation techniques such as conversion,amplification,reduction,division,combination,liberal translation,restructuring and cohesion and coherence in the text.This article belongs to the category of social investigation,and according to the requirements of the skopos theory,the target text should be based on the information of the source language.Through this translation,we can see that skopos theory is a relatively perfect translation theory,it gives the translator a larger space to translate freely.At the same time it also needs further improvement.
