Research On "Concert" In Quantou Village,Anxin County,Baoding City,Hebei Province

The wind orchestra music of central Hebei province,which spreads in the central Hebei plain,is a kind of drum wind music.This so-called “concert” in folk is distributed in about 30 counties and cities,which is located in the north of the line of south of Beijing,west of Tianjin,Cangzhou.This kind of art forms is not the modern popular musical organization,but a traditional musical culture spread in hundreds of years ago and mostly named according to local village and concert.This traditional musical form is also called “ the wind orchestra music” for it usually uses wind musical instrument and “Sheng” in the show.Emergence and development of the concert depends on the nature of a artistic organization which takes part in rituals and customs civil ceremony and the style of repertoire in rituals and customs civil ceremony.The “concert” in the village named of Quantou in Anxin county in Baoding of Hebei province is traditional musical culture that produced in such background.Its ritual and customs civil ceremony mostly is shown through burial,worship and blessing.These forms are settled for a long time and rarely changed.In this century,people protect and pay more attention to intangible cultural heritage,and analyze ritual music,which become the key study object of scholars at home and abroad.The “concert” in the village named of Quantou in Anxin county in Baoding of Hebei province belongs to the cultural category of the wind orchestra music of central Hebei province,which has outstanding characteristic of local and ritual music and has 500 years history.The “concert” of Quantou village grows from a unknown musical organization to national intangible cultural heritage in 2008,from a mass group of 10 old participant to a young organization of more than 80 people,which is related to the natural environment,cultural environment and historical environment of Quantou village.There are similar “concert” organizations in the surrounding village,however,with the change of the cultural environment,most of them decline,even disappear.The “concert” in the village,which develops well,just like Quantou village,is rare.The author conducted a field investigation four times during 2005 to 2006.Based on the theory of ethnomusicology,the author analyzed and researched the “concert”.The paper includes 5 chapters.Chapter1 is introduction,which explains the purpose,significance and status both at home and abroad of the study for “concert” in Quantou village as well as the time of field investigation and innovation of the study.Chapter2 introduces the environment,internal structure,music classification and morphological characteristics of the “concert” in Quantou village.Chapter3 demonstrates the ritual process and folk beliefs culture of the “concert” in Quantou village during the time of “Xunxiang” and Miaohui of the King of Medicine.Chapter 4 analyzes the cultural value,religion value and social value of ritual musical.Chapter 5 introduces the development and successor situation of the “concert” in Quantou village.Besides,according to the policy of protecting intangible cultural heritage,the author makes suggestions of problems in enculturation of the “concert” in Quantou village.Finally,based on the conclusion of the 5 chapters,the paper presents the culturality,artistry and sociality of the “concert” in Quantou village on the whole.
