Study Of The Ecological Civilization Outlook Of Organic Marxism

Organic Marxism combines process philosophy,Marxism and Chinese traditional wisdom,aiming at creating an organic philosophy which can transcend modernity and be beneficial to the construction of Ecological Civilized Society.It insists on criticizing the value system of modernity and the capitalist system,and call for the establishment of market socialism,organic agriculture and the organic education with the community values as the core to solve the ecological crisis,which can be regarded as a developing ecological civilization theory.Comparing it with “deep ecology” thought based on ecocentrism,“shallow ecology” thought based on anthropocentrism and Ecological Marxism to reveal its theoretical characteristics and shortcomings is of great value and significance for the construction of the ecological civilization theory and ecological civilization in China.To be specific,the ecological civilization outlook of Organic Marxism is created in the background of global ecological crisis.It is based on the development of new organic science,trying to achieve the complement of Marxism and process philosophy.And its study and exploration of the roots and solutions of ecological crisis has formed a systematic ecological civilization outlook,which is mainly embodied in three aspects: In terms of the root and causes of ecological crisis,different from the western "deep ecology","shallow ecology" and Ecological Marxism and other Western ecology theories,Organic Marxism is based on constructive postmodernism to criticize values such as anthropocentrism,economism,individualism and capitalist system;From the perspective of ecological values,Organic Marxism illustrates its unique ecological values based on natural value theory and community values.What matters is that Community is the core concept of its ecological civilization outlook,which mainly shows in two aspects: the establishment of the organic life community and the political outlook based on interests of the community;In terms of the realization of ecological civilization,Organic Marxism advocates that human society and nature are an interconnected organic life community,and regards the market socialism,organic agriculture and community-based organic education as fundamental ways to solve the ecological crisis.Through comparison with other contemporary ecological thought,we can see that Organic Marxism interpret ecological civilization as a kind of postmodern civilization in which the history of civilization is alienated from human nature history,and there is a trend towards back to pre-industrial society instead of transcending the modern industrial civilization.In the meantime,through the comparison,it is found that there are many shortcomings in the ecological thought of Organic Marxism: it misunderstands Marxism.Compared with other western green thoughts,its ecological thought has inherent defects such as against modern technology,abstract community concept and practical utopia.We can say that it failed to transcend Marxism and Ecological Marxism.In spite of the defects that we have just mentioned,Organic Marxism is a developing theory which insists on changing the capitalist system and the mode of production,opposes the values of individualism,and vigorously declares the community values.It belongs to a "non-Western centralism" ecological civilization theory,and can provide thought resources to the construction of Chinese ecological civilization theory and ecological civilization.
