Huangchunyao was born in Jiading of Shanghai who wrote “Tao’an ji”.He lived in the late Ming Dynasty.The special historical era had created a complicated typical and meaty literary figure.He had secluded feeling of Late dynasties,also had responsbility of saving the nation from extinction.There were two sides to his character:one was The serious side of Confucianism,another was wild side of bookman and scholar in Late Ming Dynasty.From Ming Dynasty to Qing Dynasty,he had became the adherents of a former dynasty.Complicated emotion and two-sided character reflected in literary field was that poetry and prose was separated,his poetry and prose had Confucianist’s orthodoxy concept,also had personalized features that was defferent from Confucianist’s orthodoxy concept.His poetry had inherited and carried forward the Confucian of “gentle”poetry education,he advocated “poems stating poests’ ambitions”and “writing delivering ethics”,and emphasized that a poet in poverty wrote well.The content of his poems was abundant,it had four main aspects:recoring history with poerty,intercommunicating with poerty,describing landscape with poerty,and the most precious of them was that they had described the turbulent history in late Ming Dynasty,it was called a faithful record of late Ming Dynasty.On main artistic characters,his poetry was variable in the formand varied in style;also used a lot of allusions;applied sentence of prose,function words and Fu to the poetry,so his poetry was inclined to take writings as poem.His prose insistded that article was based on person’s temperament character and morality.On the relationship between content and form,he deemd that content was the main aspect,form was the secondary aspect,he advocated to wideley learn the ancients’ prose theory and mode of artistic creation,and had benefited from learning from different teachers,extremely identified with “Tasong school”including Tangshunzhi and Guiyouguang.he created a top-down learning systerm which was from “Six Arts”to--Qin and Han Dynasty--Tang and Song Dynasty--early period of Ming Dynasty--“Tangsong school”,and a down-top learning way from “Tangsong school” to “Six Arts”,in this systerm,he disagreed classicist school’s theory which had the tendency of plagiarism.In the craetive writing,his prose had both emotion and reason,had both content and form.Scholars in Ming Dynasty were generally good at Eight-part essey,not literary,but Huangchunyao was good at both Eight-part and literary.On account of the The characteristics of Confucian,his poerty was different form “Gong’an school”and “Jingling school”in late Ming Dynasty when doctrine of back to the ancients was popular in the literary field,so his idea had strongly conscious of anti-mainstream consciousness.His prose was highly praised by rationalists.His prose theory was part of the “four figures in Jiading Area”,but unique of them because of learning widely from ancient scholars,promoting self-cultivation and sparkling in writing.He served as a connecting link in “Jiading school”.
