The theme-rheme theory is an important theory of functional linguistics.This paper analyzed the compositions of grade four,five and six of Jiajiang Peiying school which is a Chinese school in Cambodian,the analysis was did from the perspective of theme-rheme theory.This paper consists of five parts.The first part introduces the resources of compositions which would be researched,the basic information of composition research of those who learning Chinese as a second language,Chinese language learners' compositions research in Cambodia and research under the theme-rheme theory.The second part introduces the sorts and constitutions of theme which research of compositions would based on,besides,the thematic progression patterns would also be introduced.The third part introduces the using status of thematic progression patterns in compositions of Cambodian students,and compares between different grades.The fourth part focuses on the errors exist in the theme,the rheme and the proceeding of thematic progression.Then the last part designed a sort of writing teaching pattern based on the combination of error analysis and the theme-rheme theory.
