Research On High Frequency Characters Based On The Graded Chinese Words

This paper takes The Graded Chinese Words of The Graded Chinese Syllables,Characters and Words for the Application of Teaching Chinese to the Speakers of Other Languages as the research object,study the characters construction ability,the meaning distribution of high frequency characters in the word and the relationship between the basic meaning and the word meaning,mainly want to explore teaching strategies in teaching Chinese vocabulary to Speakers of Other Languages.First statistics in The Graded Chinese Words,from junior high altogether 9631 words analysis 308 high frequency characters,these high frequency characters can be used as the focus of word teaching.Second statistics high-frequency characters in word meanings distribution and high frequency meanings,junior high around half of the high frequency characters in the word only has 1-3 meanings,meaning distribution is relatively concentrated.what’s more about 60% of the high frequency characters have high frequency meanings,this can provide a goal for our word teaching.Third step statistics according to the high frequency characters in the word meanings and basic meanings relations are divided into consistent,more relevant,not too,not four categories,according to the statistics result found that in 48.67% words shows the basic meanings,shown in 24.12% word meanings by basic righteousness is easy to think of the word,shown in 21.76% word meanings by basic meaning associated with the word harder,shown in 5.45% word meanings are difficult to pass the basic associated with the righteous,this shows that through teaching basic meaning can provide effective help for understanding the meaning of the word.According to the conclusions of the three statistical work,puts forward suggestions on teaching Chinese vocabulary to Speakers of Other Languages.High frequency words to teach first and emphasized,high-frequency words of high frequency meanings to teach first and emphasized,using proper teaching methods according to the different relationship between high frequency words’ meaning and the basic meaning.
