Research On The Category Of "Advantage" Based On Zhouyi

As an important concept in Zhouyi,the original implication of “advantage” is laying emphasis on seeking benefits and fortunes.In ancient China,Zhouyi is used by first man to predict future,in order to pursue good luck and avoid bad luck.From the viewpoint of its nature,“advantage” is considered to be related to fortune,including wealth and benefits.To this extent,advantage only refers to certain normal and justified needs in daily life,and not relevant desires in moral level.Nevertheless,with time passing by,advantage begins to have more and more connection with the standards of what is good and bad,which leads to a much more comprehensive meaning of it.Zhouyi addresses various interpretation to advantage based on different situation,due to the particularity of it.However,generally speaking,“advantage” means obtaining benefits under the premise of meeting requirement of morality.First of all,it is the dialectics that can be regarded as the primary characteristic of Zhouyi,since not all of the 64 Gua is propitious,in the meantime,not all of 64 Gua is atrocious – this,probably is why that Zhouyi has always been charming to people.Besides,the meaning of “advantage” reflects the ideology and theory of the transition from non-civilization to civilization,which highlights the human's subjective dynamics in perceiving and remaking the world that helps people to gain benefit and avoid the harmfulness proactively.Moreover,benefit and righteousness are usually combined together by Zhouyi,such as taking use of righteousness to limit benefit,or integrating two concepts together,which becomes a mainstream within our People.Last but not least,it is recommended to put righteousness ahead of benefit,which will not only contribute to establish sense of responsibility of people,but also stabilize society and develop our country.
