This report is a description and analysis of the simulated consecutive interpretation of Ken Burns' commencement address at Stanford University in2016.This report consists of five chapters: task description,process description,preparation for interpretation,case analysis and summary,among which preparation for interpretation and case analysis are the main part.The first two chapters are a generalization of the source,interpreting process and revising process of this task.Chapter Three,preparation for interpretation,elaborates the preparation made by the author of the present report from four parts,background information,analysis of parallel text,psychological and physiological preparation and other preparations.In case analysis,some interpreting cases during the interpreting are analyzed,aiming to find out what kind of methods are needed to deal with the interpreting task.There are two parts in Chapter Four: analysis of successful interpretation and analysis of mistakes during the interpreting.The former consists of analysis of successful interpretation in intralingual and extralingual aspects.The latter mainly takes the author's mistakes during the process of interpreting as examples,from misinterpretation of words and clauses to analyze and try to find better solutions.Chapter Five,summary,focuses on the experience of the interpreting with the hope that it may provide some help for other interpreters.
