In the middle and later period of 17 th century,the transition of British diplomatic power mainly embodied in three aspects.Firstly,after fierce struggles with kings and Protectors,parliament obtained some decision-making authority eventually.Secondly,parliament infiltrated decision-making organization through various means.Thirdly,parliament's supervision toward diplomacy expanded from rejected appropriation before the event and impeached ministers after the event to supervise the actions of kings and ministers to correct the departures and errors of foreign affairs.This transition of British diplomacy was an inevitable outcome resulted from these aspects: the development of parliament,the changes of British social strata,political thoughts and so on.The situation of British parliament's diplomatic power in this period broke the tradition that foreign affairs controlled by monarchs.This transition possessed political democratization color.It is also an important step in the progress of modern British political system turned toward democratization.The common condition that strengthening of kingship in European continent contrasted sharply with Britain during this era.The democratic trend in political system appeared earlier made Britain raced ahead of most European nations in the aspect of the realization of political democratization.This was also an important expression of Britain to become a modern state.
