This is a practical report on a simultaneous interpretation conducted by the author in the opening ceremony of the Third International Conference on Rural Development and Entrepreneurship.This Conference was held at Hebei University on May9th-10 th,2015.The author was invited as an interpreter by HBU School of Economics and School of Management.This report only analyzes the simultaneous interpretation of the ICORE opening ceremony.This report consists of 5 parts: task description,process description,task preparation,case analysis and summary.The first chapter describes the source,requirements and features of the task.The second chapter — the interpreting process,sketches out the task flow and the author?s performance.It also offers the assessments of the clients and the author?s self-evaluation.The third chapter,task preparation,records and elaborates on the author?s preparation before the opening ceremony in three aspects: the background information of the conference economy and management vocabulary and the preparations for the actual situation on site.The fourth chapter is the most detailed part of the report,in which the author records and parses proper interpretations,misinterpretations and information losses of interpretation through dozens of case analyses.The fifth chapter summarizes the gains and losses in the interpretation practice.By summarizing this task,the author expects to offer lessons her own interpreting training and practices.
