This interpretation practice report is based on the author’s consecutive interpreting practice of an international academic conference, jointly organized by Hebei University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania on July 1st, 2014. The theme of this conference is mainly on the research and teaching of world history in global age. This report can be divided into five parts, namely, task description, process description, the preparation before interpreting, the case analysis and the summary. The first part is an detailed introduction of the source and content of the task. The second part is an overall description of task preparation and the interpreting process. The main body of this practice is the following two parts. The preparation before interpreting is composed of three parts, including background information collection, prediction before interpreting and preparations from other aspects. The case analysis part is on the base of the interpretation record. It analyzes from two aspects: the commonly used interpretation skills and principles. In addition, this part takes the emergency situation in this practice as example, sharing the corresponding strategies the author used on site. Finally, with the previous guidance and practical experience, the author makes a practice summary, hoping to bring some help to the interpreters who will encounter with the same type of research and practice later.
