Study On Cultural Relic Of Antlers Unearthed In Chu Area

There often unearthed antlers cultural relic in the Chu area,including antlers tomb beast,he standing bird with antlers and the separate branch of antlers.According to statistics,this kind of cultural relics unearthed more than 400 pieces.In this paper,we take these cultural relics with antlers as the object and Study on the basis of collecting data.First of all,this kind of objects were classified,according to the carrier and variety of antlers.According to the carrier of antlers can be divided into the antlers tomb beast,the standing bird with antlers and the separate branch of antlers;According to the variety of antlers can be divided into deer antlers and wapiti antlers cultural relics.Secondly through analysing the situation of large nobility grave with antler artifacts,the head direction of Chu system nobles were east,West and south were different surname nobility grave.The grave with standing bird and antlers tomb were only few east.Therefore this kind of cultural relics mostly should be different surname nobility living in the Chu region.Also by comparing living antlers with antler artifacts,found in the main branch of elk antlers and deer antler.Proving there were a large number of elk and deer living in Chu region.Antlers are usually painted,and antler tip coated with vermilion.Usually in antler branch painted with moire,swirls,ripple and carved patterns of sinuous dragons.The main color are red and black,that make antler artifacts calm,lively and unassuming,at the same time,it also shows its mystery;By analyzing the geographical distribution of the antlers,it is found that the cultural belief should be Spread from Jiangling to the surrounding areas.Lastly Analysis of the origin and development of antler artifacts.Most close to the mountain gods of "The Classic of the Great Wilderness".The antler cultural relics should be the protection of the Chu people.After the Warring States period,the cultural relics of the antlers disappeared,but the cultural factors of the antlers were left behind in the Chu Kingdom in the early Western Han dynasty.The Eastern Han Dynasty Bashu area developed a unique tongue tomb beast system,which is affected by the factors of the Chu culture.In the Central Plains region of antlers cultural relics make the comparison,found with a high degree of consistency in some aspects of religious beliefs and customs.
