"National Outline for Medium and Long-term Education Reform and Development(2010-2020)" made it clear that "Education should pay attention to each student,promote each student to develop actively and vividly,respect the law of education and the law of the development of students' body and mind,and provide suitable education for each student".Compared with the city area,students and teachers in rural areas are facing more severe challenges,due to the economic development of backward,backward educational concept causes rural junior middle school students and the students in the city can not get the same support for rural junior high school students.The basic education reform should pay attention to each student and provide the suitable education for each student.Therefore,it is important to study the basic situation of the students in the rural areas.While the junior high school students are in adolescence,is the rapid change of physical and mental development period,but also in people's life in the critical period,through physiological changes at this stage of the junior high school,has also experienced a drastic change of psychological development,psychologists almost all admit that youth is quite a difficult transition,a crisis.Then,due to the uneven development of education,there is a big gap between rural schools and urban schools,and the education of rural schools is relatively behind the urban schools.Rural school sex education,especially gender education,is relatively weak.It is of practical significance to study the status of rural junior middle school students' gender role.In this study,gender role scale,achievement motivation scale and self control ability questionnaire were used to investigate 469 rural junior middle school students,The results show that:1.The distribution of gender role types in rural junior middle school students is unbalanced,among which androgyny and undifferentiated gender roles are the majority.2.The third grade students have the strongest motivation to avoid failure(Mf);the achievement level is the strongest(Ms)motivation and achievement motivation score(Ms-Mf)of middle and upper students.3.The self-control ability of rural junior high school girls is stronger than that of male students;the self-control ability of students who are in the front and middle school is stronger than that of other students.4.Rural junior middle school students with different gender role types have significant differences in achievement motivation,among which masculine,bisexual,masculine and feminine.5.Rural middle school students with different gender role types have significant differences in self-control ability,among which androgyny is more feminine,undifferentiated,androgynous and masculine.
