As a new discipline,the study of language planning and language policy has become a hot topic in the field of linguistics since the beginning of the 20th century.Governments and institutions often undertake language policy and planning initiatives to influence or change the language and literacy practices within a society.In recent years there has been an upsurge of practical language planning and policy in the Philippines making as a result of economic globalization,increased population movements,and the language planning and language policy in Philippines have also been adjusted.With the rapid development of Chinese,especially in the economic aspect,Chinese language in Philippines educational circles effect gradually,the Philippines government began to support Chinese education,educational institutions,more and more educational institutions regards Chinese language as a foreign language professor.This paper uses the theory of Kaplan and Baldauf in language education and planning activities involved in all aspects of the subject,from the policy and implementation plan,foreign language teaching language setting,teaching object,teaching objectives,curriculum,teaching methods and teaching materials,curriculum,resourcing,and evaluation methods in the Philippines.The author gathered different materials to analyze the current language policy and planning in Chinese education Books and relevant publications are utilized Materials from the Internet from recognized institutions are also used as reference Interview were also conducted in the process of this study.The author hopes this thesis can bring enlightenment to the current language education planning for future reformation of language education planning in the Philippines.
