Study On Design Of Drug Packaging For Elderly Based On Safety Factors

Population aging is a major challenge for China at present.With the increase of the old population,the living situation of the elderly gains more and more attention from all sectors of society,thus,the elderly-centered product design catches people's eyes unprecedentedly.However,as life quality of the elderly being improved increasingly,some relevant problems are raised gradually.Various safety accidents for the elderly occur frequently,among which the drug safety for the elderly takes a relative large proportion all the time.Based on the discussion above,a study on drug safety design for the elderly is conducted.The thesis proposes the impact of factors such as vision condition,somatic function and memory capability of the elderly on their drug safety after summarizing the related content for the elderly,current social situation as well as physical and mental features of old people.In the second place,the thesis,in accordance with the data analysis on old people's favor in material,color,appearance of outer packaging and etc.exposes drug safety problem met by the elderly in real life through field investigation and questionnaire survey.Then it is expected any relevant issues to be settled and drug packaging to be upgraded in the future after reasons causing elderly drug safety accidents being confirmed.Based on discussing the function for protection,convenience,caring words,recognition marks as well as guidance on the drug packaging for the elderly,the thesis puts forward a barrier-free,convenient and care-oriented design concept for elderly drug packaging after taking the special physiological and psychological factors into account.Finally,based on the design concept for the elderly drug packaging as well as main factors affecting the drug safety,the thesis proposes that drug packaging for the elderly shall boast easy-to-identify,easy-to-take,quantitive and prompt features,and then from different aspects,it illustrates how to achieve it in packaging,for example,how to design drug packaging from perspectives such as character,picture,color,and its specification making the packaging of a distinctive feature.In addition,with the precondition for ensuring the drug safety for the elderly,the thesis raises problems related to drug packaging,such as recycling of packaging and the validity of drugs,in order to meet even wider needs of old people.
