A Report On The Translation Of Folk Songs Of Northern Shaanxi

Song translation is different from science and technology translation and legal translation,it is a kind of poetry translation.Songs are composed of lyrics and tunes.The lyrics are the reflection of the content of life in language and literature,while the tunes are the expression of inner emotion in the art of music.The integration of language and music creates a unique art that is active in world culture.International exchanges not only need to be introduced but also go abroad.The translation of songs combines the cultures of all ethnic groups and regions in our country with foreign languages and effectively promotes the exchange and transmission of world cultures.Because of its location in the Loess Plateau and its distinctive geographical features,Northern Shaanxi has an important position in our country.Northern Shaanxi folk song is the concentrated expression of the daily life and thoughts and emotions of the Han people.Taking the specific songs as examples,this paper explores the strategies of song translation and summarizes the translation practice.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the translation task,which involves the background information and its nature.The second part describes the translation process,including the preparatory work before the translation and the specific translation details.The third part analyzes the specific song cases,including the translation of words,sentences and tunes.The fourth part summarizes the problems in this translation practice and the inspiration and reflection on translation work in the future.
