A Research On The Style Of Qian Songyan's Chinese Paintings

Qian Songyan is one of the most influential Chinese painters of the 20th century.As a representative painter of the new Jinling School,Qian Songyan has a profound knowledge of painting and art cultivation,and is good at painting of landscapes,flowers and birds,people,as well as poetry writing,among which he has made the greatest achievements in landscape painting.Due to hisremarkable art style,Qian Songyan is recognized as a great painter who inherited the past painting tradition and broke new grounds for the future painting development.On the basis of studying his achievements,this paper explores the origins and characteristics of Qian Songyan's landscape painting by the analysis of the development process of his art career and his representative works.Qian Songyan's works under the revolutionary theme reflects the transformation of Chinese painting in the specific historical period,which influenced Chinese landscape painting in the middle and late 20th century.His original creation of "Loess Skin" adds a newpainting techniquefor the landscape painting,which is of great significance in the history of Chinese landscape painting.The layout of his works is very flexible.He is good at using the "close-up"and "panoramic" techniques to demonstrate the mountains and rivers of the motherland.In his works of landscape painting,the usage of heavy color,pen and ink are combined to highlight the lofty atmosphere and distinctive spirit of that time.In this paper,the comparison of Qian Songyan and other artists of the same age is made in order to display the artist's tireless efforts and exploring spiritin the special period,which could help us to position the Qian Songyan's painting style in a clear and accurate manner,and get a more comprehensive understanding of his calm and vigorous painting style.
