Study On The Influencing Factors Of Self-identity Degree Of The Urban Self-motivated Christian In China

The most significant questions,which are discussed in this dissertation,are what factors influence the self-identity degree of the urban self-motivated Christian and how these factors affect,except the wish of the general description which focus on the basic features and the profess a religion of the urban self-motivated Christian.To bemore specific,these factors mainly include personal concept of religion(redemption care),daily practice and the degree of involvement of religious activities.As a result,this dissertation analyzes the questionnaire survey of four Christian churches in Jinzhong Shangxi province by using the quantitative study methods.The analysis results are as follows:Firstly,in terms of the personal concept of religion,in general,there is existing the redemption care in the urban self-motivated Christian,and this is evidently reflected in the selection which is made by them when there is a serious conflict between their religious belief and the traditional belief system or the secular interests.Specifically,the self-identity degree of the urban self-motivated Christian who has the original sin concept is higher;and the Christian who prefers to choose to stick to their beliefs rather than to do some traditional activities,such as worshiping,incensing,kowtowing and so on,have higher estimation in the degree;besides,the higher degree also exists in the Christian who can show their firm belief to the Christian religion when the situation that only if giving up their belief they can obtain the profit happens.Moreover,the variable quantity of the attitudes toward the statue of other religions,the question that the windfall not have obviously influence on the self-identity degree.Secondly,the daily practice has a positive influence on the self-identity degree of the urban self-motivated Christian.Concretely,the higher frequency of using religious utterance,the higher degree they get in self-identity;the higher frequency of asking a blessing,the higher degree they get in self-identity;the higher frequency of attending the religion festivals,the higher degree they get in self-identity.Finally,the degree of involvement of religious activities also has a positive influence on the self-identity degree of the urban self-motivated Christian.Specifically,the higher frequency of reading the bible,praying and preaching,the higher degree they get in self-identity;the higher frequency of going to church,attending fellowship activities and attending church organization activities,the higher degree they get in self-identity.Based on the analysis of the comprehensive background variables and the three factors which areintroduced above,we can find that the influences exerted by the daily practice and the degree of involvement of religious activities on the self-identity degree of the urban self-motivated Christian are both partly weakened,except the personal concept of religion.Therefore,the daily practice,the degree of involvement of religious activities and the personal religion concept both have an effect on the self-identity degree.Besides,the influence caused by the personal concept of religion is more obvious than other two factors.
