The Translation Practice Report On Of Tourist Resources Text In Tiefeng District, Qiqihar

With the development of today's China and the gradual realization of the great“China Dream”,a growing number of people from other countries choose to be here in China to work,study,live and travel.As the second biggest city in Heilongjiang province,the Qiqihar City is reputed as the Crane City of China,where the Tiefeng District has many famous tourist attractions,such as the amazing Zalong Marsh National Reserve,religious tourist attractions like the Mahayana Temple,the sightseeing ranch of FEIHERUYE company which has significant influences in the China's milk powder industry,and the Chahannuo Village with the title of new socialist countryside having national exemplary effects.For these representative tourism resources,the English translation of them not only helps to promote the international communication of characteristic and traditional cultures of the local place but also stimulates its tourism industry and accelerates its economic development.To ensure the quality of the translation and fulfill the purposes of this practice report,much work has been done before the translation,and the tools like Google Translate as well as the Lu Gusun Dictionary for Translation covering widest fields compared to other dictionaries in the present domestic market,were adopted to guarantee the accuracy of the translation.Also,during the translation lots of books and materials in the fields of the religion,culture and history from the ancient time till today were investigated and referenced,and the innovation based on the independent practice was also made to let the translation fluent.Moreover,all tourist attractions mentioned in this report were from field investigations so as to make the translation lively.In this report,by investigating the practice and skills of the translation of tourism resources,and based on the “functional translation theory” by Nord,the English translation of the source text was conducted,and considering features of the informative text in tourism,methods and skills for translation aimed at such aspects as the title,expression with Chinese characteristics and four-word phrase were studied and summarized,and moreover the cultural background and specialized knowledge of tourism resources of Tiefeng District in Qiqihar City as well as the development and current status of the tourism industry were researched,and all of which have laid afoundation for the translation of texts of this type afterwards.In the meantime,many specialized vocabularies related to translated texts of this type were accumulated in the study,of which some words,phrases and means of expression,as were adopted in the translation of introduction texts of the scenic spot MahaYana Temple,had not been summarized and studied previously,which as the innovation of this report are believed to play an important role in future translation practices and to some extent provide references for the bilingual construction and improvement of tourism resources.The contents suitable to oversea tourists were chosen to be translated,and problems found during the translation process and corresponding translation strategies and methods were discussed.
