Application Of Cohesive Devices In Chinese To English Consecutive Interpretation

With increasing international and cross-culture communications,there is a surging demand for qualified conference interpreters.As for consecutive interpretation,the interpreter is usually required to do a five-minute long speech satisfactorily.To achieve this,the interpreter needs to be proficient in both language,and transfer the meaning to listeners.What's more,the interpreter also needs to reconstitute the discourse properly,making it logical,consistent and concise.While by putting cohesive devices into good use can provide a practical way to handle these tasks.The thesis will introduce consecutive interpretation and discuss the application of cohesive devices in the mock conference,The Third World Internet Conference,Wuzhen Summit.The thesis introduces cohesive devices and discusses how they help to improve the interpretation.According to the analysis and discussion on the source language,interpretation and application of cohesive devices,the thesis finds that the cohesive devices could help better build up the overall structure of the interpretation,and link the sentences in a coherent and logical way.
