Using the random sampling method,this research conducted a questionnaire survey on 455 media practitioners by proactive personality scale,job crafting scale and work engagement scale,to study the working conditions of media staff from the perspective of positive psychology.Data was analyzed by correlation analysis and regression analysis to examine the relationship between proactive personality,job crafting and work engagement.And on this basis,using structural equation verified the mediating role of job crafting between proactive personality and work engagement.According to the results,some effective ways of improving the level of work engagement were provided.Through the above analysis,the results are summarized as follows:(1)Media staff have typical proactive personality,they are most likely to craft their jobs,and their work engagement are in medium level.(2)Media staff’s proactive personality,job crafting and work engagement exist significant differences in part of the demographic variables.(3)Media staff’s proactive personality,job crafting and work engagement show a significant positive correlation between the three.Both proactive personality and job crafting can effectively predict work engagement.(4)Job crafting plays a partial mediating role between proactive personality and work engagement.This study shows that proactive personality and job crafting are important factors of work engagement.Job crafting can effectively enhance the level of work engagement,and should be encouraged and promoted in workplace.
