Objective:Based on the large amount of domestic and foreign research concerning to the downward trend of Chinese college students' sleep quality, this research aimed at exploring the current situation of Chinese college students' sleep quality and the factors that affect their sleep quality. We took the two themes with the most concentration as our research cores—pre-sleep cognitive activities and sleep-related attentional bias.We also examined whether the new form of sleep stimulation can arouse the attentional bias of the insomnia.Furthermore, our research explored the mechanism of insomnia and possible association among the pre-sleep automatic thinking, attentional bias and insomnia. We also tried to explain the conditions under which attentional bias take place and the ways that attentional bias influence insomnia,so as to provide college insomnia students with visible and systematic cognitive behavior therapy suggestions for prevention and intervention of insomnia.Design and Methods:Investigation and experiment were adopted as our mainly research methods. The College Students'?Positive Pre-sleep Automatic Thinking Scale?and the?Negative Pre-sleep Automatic Thinking Scale?were compiled to investigate college students'pre-sleep cognitive activity?the attribute and frequency of the automatic thinking. Both of the scales are of reliability and validity to some extent. We also prepared the effective behavior experimental material of attentional bias through scale compling and structured interview, follow which were experimental task of three stages:(1)Examine the effectiveness of the emotional Stroop task through preliminary experiment, and compare the reaction time difference between good sleepers and the insomnia in negative pre-sleep automatic thinking sentences, positive pre-sleep automatic thinking sentences and neutral-non sleep-related sentences;(2)Varify whether insomnia college students would show an attentional bias to negative pre-sleep automatic thinking sentences compared with good sleep college students.(3)A complete randomalized design within psychophysiological college students was employed to exam whether there were difference between the average reaction time of General negative pre-sleep automatic thinking sentences and the average reaction time of Specific pre-sleep negative automatic thinking sentences.Results:1.There were significant difference between the level of pre-sleep positive thinking and the level of pre-sleep negative thinking among college students of various sleep quality.2.Compared with good sleeper, insomnia college students showed a longest response time to negative pre-sleep automatic thinking sentences, longer than positive pre-sleep automatic thinking sentences and neutral sentences.3.Insomnia college students showed an interference effect to negative pre-sleep automatic thinking sentences.4.The average reaction time of the Psychophysiological insomnia students to specific negative pre-sleep automatic thinking sentences were significantly longer than to general negative pre-sleep automatic thinking sentences.5.Attentional bias acted as the mediator variable between negative pre-sleep automatic thinking and sleep quality. Conclusions:The worse the sleep quality, the higher the degree of insomnia and the level of pre-sleep negative thinking.Insomnia college students showed an attentional bias to negative pre-sleep automatic thinking sentences, and the level of attentional bias to specific negative automatic thinking sentences is more obvious than general negative automatic thinking sentences in psychophysiological insomnia college students.Attentional bias partially mediated the negative pre-sleep automatic thinking and sleep quality.
