In western philosophy, the concept of space has always been the object of philosophers' thinking. In ancient Greece, the people's thinking about space was always connected with the concepts of location, container, position, etc. This view of space is ontological.Meanwhile the modern view of space is related to people's perception and cognition,It is an epistemological view of space. In different from the ancient and the modern concept of space, the contemporary space is no longer an empty, dull concept, but it is related to the body. This view of space has a flexible phenomenological, existentialist and other sense. This kind of spatial view overcomes the traditional analysis mode about the opposite between subjective and objective and takes the path of dialectic. After the turn of space in the 1970s,the time that traditionally occupied the mainstream position also gave way to space.Space began to be connected with politics, economy and culture, and also be connected with people's practical life.Jameson's view of postmodern space interprets space from the perspective of cultural criticism. In his view, space is no longer regarded as an objective object, but is interpreted more as a cultural space, and space is theoretically transformed into the basic characteristics of the late capitalist culture.Jameson skillfully combined postmodernism with Marxism and Jameson regarded postmodernism as a cultural form of late capitalist society. And it is a kind of space culture. In Jameson's view, the most general feature of postmodernism is that it seems that everything has been spatialized, for example cultural products, existing experiences and ways of thinking have been spatialized.Jameson points out, space of spatialization means such space that is not the old form of space, but a new form of space.it eliminates the unpredictable relationship of between the deep concepts of the pure surface about the text.Spatialization causes the loss of depth and distance, especially the loss of critical distance in culture.Critical distance directly leads to the formation of hyperspace that we cannot understand. In the era of globalization of capitalism, the world system of transnational capitalism, our brain system and imagination system can not grasp and understand. Therefore,in the face of the dilemma caused by this hyperspace,Jameson put forward the aesthetic concept of cognitive map drawing,so that he can awaken the traditional Utopian imagination spirit. This paper describes Jameson's postmodern space theory from four dimensions:the first chapter describes the evolution of post-modern space from ancient space to post-modern space and shows the historical origin of post-modern space.Through the description of historical origin,a clear path of spatial evolution is revealed, which provides a background for us to understand Jameson's space theory vertically.Chapter two analyzes the construction of Jameson's space theory.First of all,it explains the foundation stone of Jameson's postmodern space theory, that is the mode of production;secondly, because Jameson's postmodern space theory is described from the postmodern culture level,so this Chapter give the post-modern theory. The typical spatial characteristics shown by the doctrine are explained in detail:the dissolving of depth, the disappearance of distance, the disappearance of historical consciousness and the disappearance of subject, and the further description and study of the theory of postmodern space horizontally. The concept of hyperspace is explained, and the cognitive map of Jameson's cognitive dilemma is explained. Finally, the construction of Jameson's space theory is summarized. This paper attempts to sort out the basic elements of Jameson's postmodern space theory:the relationship between spatialization and hyperspace, and it tries to explain the internal evolution of Jameson's space theory, this explaination aims at a systematic and comprehensive understanding of Jameson's postmodern space theory,so that can provide a clear and reliable prerequisite for explaining the philosophical significance and the existing theoretical problems of Jameson's space theory. The third chapter analyzes the direct source of Jameson's hyperspace theory, and also analyzes the inspiration of Henry Lefefort,Jean Baudrillard,Earl Nast Mandel to Jameson. It can help us to understand Jameson's space theory more deeply from a broader Vision.Chapter four rethinks the contradiction and tension of Jameson's postmodern space theory, and simply discusses a new view of space opened up by Jameson's theory of space, that is cultural space.
