Belt and Road Initiative(or the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road)has received widespread attention both at home and abroad since it was first proposed. In addition to a lot of praise for this initiative, there are many misunderstandings and accusations such as an aggression to Africa,a clone of the Marshall plan and so on.Accordingly,it is urgent to transmit Chinese cultures and Belt and Road Initiative to the whole world.Among so many kinds of methods of transmission including newspaper, magazines, and TV,the function of film cannot be ignored. At this moment,Kung-Fu Yoga was released on the big screen in 2017.This film is an action-adventure comedy that tells a story about an archaeologist who is attracted by a map with a history of more than one thousand years, and who looks for mysterious treasure in the area between China and India.Based on the above, this thesis is aimed at analyzing how to transmit Chinese culture and finally arrive at the cultural integration.By means of quantitative, contrastive, and qualitative approaches, this thesis analyzes Kung-Fu Yoga from the perspective of Hofstede's four cultural dimensions, which include individualism versus collectivism, uncertainty avoidance, masculinity versus femininity and power distance.Specifically, the quantitative approach is to calculate and analyze the quantity and frequency of words and phrases from each character's dialogues, the contrastive is to find out cultural differences and their similarities, and the qualitative one is to discuss cultural integration between China and India in Kung-Fu Yoga. The major findings are as follows:Cultural integration of China and India in Kung-Fu Yoga can be achieved based on Hofstede's cultural dimensions.Belt and Road Initiative is not an aggressor to other countries or a copy of the Marshall plan, but an initiative of cooperation and mutual benefit. At the same time, not only“Ren”,“Yi”,“Li”,“Zhi”and“Xin”of Confucianism, but also Chinese humanology, figurines of Terra-Cotta Warriors, color restoration, and Chinese woman's subordinate status are transmitted to audiences both at home and aboard. In addition,Indian theology, astrology, lifestyles and customs are also demonstrated to audiences across the world. In conclusion, the analysis of Kung-Fu Yoga not only reveals a kind of strategy of transmitting Chinese culture, but also achieves the purpose of cultural integration in the process of exhibiting Chinese culture.
