Research On Gubaidulina Religious Music

This paper takes the Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina of the 20~thh century as the case study,and selects the two instrumental music works of the 20~thh century Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina as a research case to explore the characteristics of the development ofSofia Gubaidulina.Sofia Gubaidulina entered people's field of vision by creating religious works with profound religious philosophies.In the creation of religious music,she combined the national musical vocabulary with creative techniques of the 20~thh century to gradually make a breakthrough and innovation to religious music.In the selection of themes,she was no longer limited to traditional themes,but expanded themes,enriching the musical connotation of religious music.Based on the theme,Sofia Gubaidulina's creation of religious music was divided into two periods in this paper.One is the"Redemption"period-1970-1989;the second is"Revelation"period-after 1989.In the phased study,the author selected two representative instrumental music works“Siben Wrote”and“Two Paths”,and conducted a comparative analysis of the two works in order to peek into the development and change of Sofia Gubaidulina's musical style in these two periods.Moreover,Sofia Gubaidulina's contribution to the development of Russian religious music in the 20th century and its influence on composers of the same period were analyzed,so as to have a restricted view on the development and historical significance of Russian religious music in the 20th century.
