In contemporary Chinese,the “noun + verb” structure can be divided into “subject-predicate structure” and “modifier-core structure”,furthermore,“modifier-core structure” can be divided into “attribute-center structure” and “adverbial verb structure”.Whilst the “Modifier-core structure” has been researched by others in the past,there hasn't been any clear explanation for the classification of its internal structure,including the necessity and method of distinguishing “attribute-center structure” and “adverbial verb structure”,which plague the teaching of Chinese to speakers of other languages.Therefore,for providing reference for our Chinese teaching,this study briefly summarizes the grammatical functions of the “modifier-core structure” of "noun + verb" and analyzes its internal semantics relationships based on the principle of facilitating our teaching.In addition,it will give some suggestions on the internal classification of this structure by interviewing some Chinese teachers.This study investigates the data from the interlanguage text corpus of foreign students in intermediate and advanced stages because the “modifier-core structure” of "noun + verb" has been highly formalized.Then,we compare them with the data from the native speaker corpus to discover the differences of using this structure between the two groups and then try to explore the reasons for these differences.In the practice of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages,whether teachers and teaching materials can provide sufficient and correct input to learners will directly affect the learners' acquisition.Through the interviews with Chinese teachers and analysis of two typical Chinese teaching materials,we found that most Chinese teachers have a good understanding of teaching word collocation,however,they did not pay enough attention to the “modifier-core structure” of "noun + verb",including the grammar generation mechanism,internal classification,and how to teach this structure to students,nor did they realize the importance of this structure.Meanwhile,the “modifier-core structure” of "noun + verb" and the practices about it has rarely existed in the current teaching materials.This paper summarizes the high-frequency collocation of the “modifier-core structure” of "noun + verb" in order to facilitate Chinese teaching,meanwhile,it will enlighten Chinese teachers to rediscover this structure and also provide reference for writers of Chinese teaching materials.
