The Application Of The Buddhist Icon In Contemporary Portrait Painting

Buddhism painting has developed for over 1,000 years since Buddhism was spread into China.Buddhism painting has influenced Chinese aesthetic ideology deeply.Among all the wonderful Buddhism paintings of past dynasties,there is no doubt that Dunhuang Murals are the greatest art treasures and models.No other Buddhism paintings can be comparable with them because of the long time span and abundant content.This essay states the Buddhism paintings forms and features in different historical periods in time order,especially focuses on analysis of Dunhuang Murals.At the end of this essay,I make a new point and stand with my portrait paintings about how to watch Dunhuang Murals.
