Research On The Narrative Transmutation Of The Documentary Film Of The Long March

From the earliest long march theme documentary On the Way of the Long March in 1957 to the broadcasting of The Long March in 2018,The Long March documentary has gone through 61 years and could be divided into three stages.Start-up period: 1957-1978;Development period: 1979-1999;Prosperous Period: Since 2000.The long-term thematic documentaries at various stages have undergone more obvious changes in the narrative performance and characteristics.The occurrence of this change reveals the influence of factors such as the creation of ideas,the excavation of historical materials,the level of technology,and the aesthetics of the audience.The narrative performance and characteristics of the latter stage are mostly the inheritance,evolution and development of the previous stage,and gradually move towards diversity and abundance.The article is based on narratology and video science and other related theories,using literature research methods,text analysis methods,and comparative research methods.Starting with the narrative stories and discourses,the 61-year Long March documentary film narrative transformation was combed and summarized,and the documentary of the Long March themes was analyzed in terms of themes,characters,events,and environments;the narrative perspectives,narrators,narrative spacetime,narrative structure methods,audiovisual language and other discourse aspects of transmuted performance,summed up its narrative transgression characteristics and laws,explained the causes of its changes,and explored the narrative strategies for follow-up creation.In order tosupplement the theoretical research on the narrative metamorphosis of the documentary on the Long March,enrich the narrative research on the long-term themes and guide the narrative creation of the documentary on the Long March,and realize the dual values of theory and practice.The article covers the following sections.First of all,it is an overview of the long march theme documentaries,defining the basic concepts of long march documentaries and documentary narratives,dividing the types of long documentary documentaries,and sorting out their development history.Secondly,the narrative performance and characteristics of the documentary of the Long March were analyzed from the perspective of story content and narrative discourse,and they were compared by diachronic comparison.Thirdly,this paper explores the causes of the changes in the narration of the Long Documentary Documentaries.Finally,we will give constructive suggestions on the long-term thematic documentary in the future narrative direction.The narrative of the current Long March theme documentary has changed compared to before,the theme documentary must be constantly updated to achieve a balance between the mainstream value transmission and the audience's aesthetic acceptance.It is necessary to make more efforts in enriching the story content and innovating the narrative discourse.
