Since the establishment of Suzerain vassal relationship between Vietnam and China,Vietnam had sent envoys to China many times. When they went through some Chinese scenic spots, they often had feelings and wrote poems to narrate. The range of these poems in the times and locations of was quite wide, but they also concentrated on a few places with different degrees.Cangwu,Chibi in Huangzhou,Pipa pavilion, the temple of Yue Fei,and Youli were part of these places. This part of poems was not only the depictions around the scenery, but also the exhibit about the cultural acceptance to Chinese of the Vietnamese.Envoys’ Cangwu poetry were divided into poems recalling antiquity and landscape poems.Poems recalling antiquity always depicted Emperor Shun and Shi Xie,and envoys more admired Shi Xie far than Chinese literatus. In another class, most of the landscape poems were wrote in the "Eight scenic spots of Cangwu".Although, they were the imitative works to Chinese poems, the poems of "Eight scenic spots of Cangwu" in China were few. Most of envoys’ poems of the Chibi in Huangzhou recalled Su Shi and reminisced the battle in Chibi, and the two themes were quite similar with poems which contemporaneous Chinese literatus wrote. However, the dispute between the literary Chibi and warfare Chibi in poems of Chinese writers was hardly appeared.Almost all of envoys’ pipa pavilion poetry expressed the lament about present and past, but most Chinese poems expressed the resentment result from coming down in the world.Part of the Chinese poems satired Bai Juyi slightly that he couldn’t forget the officialdom completely, but this theme was far from envoys’ writings and replaced by the feeling of worship.Envoys’ poems about Yue Fei concentrated on the temples in Tangyin and Yancheng. They fully affirmed Yue Fei,and not a few of them criticized the fatuity ofEmperor Gaozong of Song. The faith to Yue Fei of Vietnamese literatus, was not only from his outstanding military talent, but more important was for the sake of his supreme loyalty.Envoys’ Youli poetry sang King Wen of Zhou about his virtue and merits, and the method of hiding his capacities and biding his time. The feeling in their poems were even stronger than Chinese poems. The writings of Vietnamese envoys had more or less imitated and studied Chinese poetry, even some of their works reflected the ideological echoes. The distribution of the number of poems also reflected their high praise and admiration to Chinese loyal courtiers and famous literatus.
