With the development of globalization,Simultaneous interpreting(SI)has been widely applied in many international conferences.Syntactic linearity,as an important principle in English-Chinese SI,is regarded as a golden rule among professional interpreters.But during the process of practicing,there are still many obstacles.Today,caused by the fast progress of media technology,the demand for translation of the interview TV programs are also growing,however,quite contrary to the prosperity of other programs translation practices on this field,the advancement and researches of interpreting on interview programs are backward and fairly limited.By knowing and understanding the styles of this interview programs,this paper takes Yan Lan One-on-One,an interview TV programs produced by Shanghai Dragon TV,as an example to focus on Yan Lan's interviews with former Secretary of United States Hillary Clinton,president of Harvard University Drew Faust,economist Robert J.Shiller,famous basketball player Michael Jordan and popular superstar Tom Cruise.Based on these examples,the author pays attention to the common difficulties that are always encountered during English-Chinese SI.The author will try to find coping techniques so as to provide further guidance for future SI practice.
