The Goths civilization is an essential legacy of the western civilization,as well as the important component for the development of national culture in western countries.As cultural heritage,it preserved since its entry into civilization in the form of violence.Its influencing areas include architecture,painting,literature,film,music and so on.As a traditional culture,although some factors have been partly increased or decreased in the process of inheritance,it has always maintained its core value,otherwise it would not be called legacy.The introduction of the intertwined stories of Gothic history and the Gothic heritage will promotes the research and exploration on historical civilization of our country.Under the guidance of the functional equivalence theory and respectively from the perspective of lexical,syntactic,textual and stylistic equivalence,the author uses the specific examples in this translation practice to analyze the problems in the translation process.In addition,the author also discusses the translation methods and translation skills to solve those problems.The conclusion is made that the functional equivalence theory plays an effective role in translating the academic work,while there are some merits and defects.Finally,the author concludes some experience in the translation practice and hopes these will benefit to the translation practice in future.
