The Research On Demand Of Rural Elderly People In China

The purpose of the report is to seek out what should government do to meet the needs of rural elderly people, which will be able to maximize the utility of policies. There is no doubt that a reasonable policy can satisfy the needs of rural elderly people. Therefore, the quantitative analysis and the qualitative analysis are taken to figure out the common needs of rural elderly people.There are several steps in analytic section. First step is sorting out the degrees of satisfaction in three types of needs, such as economic needs, nursing needs and emotional needs. Secondly, recognize the features of different needs and the relation between people's needs and subjective feeling about their lives by the way of correlation analysis and regression analysis. Thirdly, explain the results of data analysis by the way of qualitative analysis to conclude the reasonable policies government should make. Finally, find out the existing problems of policies refer to the results and improve them.The research results are concluded as followed:(1) The economic needs is the most important needs in their lives; (2) The target population which has different characteristics has the common feature in needs; (3) Satisfying one type of needs will exert a positive influence on other type of needs. (4) A small part of the aged is disgusted with current situation. (5) Most people have normal health assessment themselves and have good self-care ability.The suggested solution is shown as followed:At the aspect of policy target, trying to develop the interactive mechanism between social support and self-support. At the aspect of development, increasing the accuracy in social supporting to make sure that the people who actually need the help can benefit from the rural elder-security system. At the aspect of institutional arrangement, focusing on the economic support mainly and coordinating the development in nursing support and spiritual support, In the operational aspect, making the development of rural elder-security system sustainable and concentrating on the infrastructure in rural elder-security system.
