ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to understand the willingness of the elderly in rural areas and their quality of life.Analyze the main factors that affect the willingness and quality of life of their institutions.And provide the theoretical basis for the advancement of the old-age mode of rural institutions and the improvement of the quality of life of the rural elderly.MethodsIn this study,the convenience of sampling,in strict accordance with the inclusion,excluding the standard selected 302 rural elderly from March 2015 to April 2016 living from Liaoning Province,eight counties(Chaoyang County,Jianchang County,Taian County Yixian County,Futun County,Benxi Manchu Autonomous County,Liaozhong County),and then from each county to facilitate the extraction of an administrative village-based study of the object,using home,face to face way to conduct a questionnaire survey.General Questionnaire,Social Support Rating Scale,Concise Health Status Questionnaire were investigated.The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis,t test,F test,chi-square test,Pearson correlation analysis,multiple linear regression analysis,Logistic regression analysis and Spearman correlation analysis using SPSS20.0 statistical software package.ResultsAmong the 302 rural elderly living alone in the survey,83 people have chosen the institutions,the total number of 27.5%;(34.86 ± 3.73)points,the difference was statistically significant(t = 12.221,P <0.001).Quality of life in eight dimensions,the highest score is the physical pain dimension(62.25 ±19.41)points,the lowest overall health dimension(32.16 ± 31.62)points.The number of monthly income,the number of children,the number of illnesses and the total number of social support had a significant effect on the willingness of the elderly in rural areas(P <0.05).Age,morbidity,objective support and social support had a significant effect on the quality of life of rural residents(P <0.05).There are statistically significant correlations between the three dimensions and the total score of the willingness to provide for the elderly and the quality of life of the elderly in rural areas(P <0.05).ConclusionsIn Liaoning Province,the elderly living alone in rural areas have a certain demand for pension,but because of economic,concept and other factors,willing to choose the proportion of the elderly pension is not high;Living alone in the elderly social support level is low,to improve its social support network;Living alone in the quality of life dimensions,the overall health is poor,need to pay attention.Monthly income,number of sons,number of illnesses,and social support are the main influencing factors of the willingness to support the elderly in rural areas.Age,morbidity,objective support and social support are the main influencing factors of the quality of life of the elderly living alone in rural areas.To improve the quality of life,it is necessary to start from the influencing factors.There is a correlation between the willingness to provide for the elderly and the quality of life,Improve the quality of life of rural elderly living alone,should promote the process of institutional pension;Promote institutions to support the way to meet their pension needs,improve their quality of life as the starting point.
