American Policies' Reviews Of Dealing The Relationships Between Different Ethnic Groups

Nowadays in the world, most countries are all multi-ethnic countries. In a multi-ethnic country, ethnic relationship is an important factor that influences the country's stability. China and America are the representatives of multi-ethnic countries, the ethnic policies (America also call it racial politics) the two countries carry out always have attracted more and more attention. The west always calls their "minzu" as race or ethnic group, but it is similar to Chinese "minzu". We regard America dealing with the racial or ethnic relationships as China dealing with "minzu" relationship.The reason to take American ethnic policies as examples to research is that America has many minorities, the components are complicated. The American ethnic policies are representative in each period. This paper mainly research and evaluate the dealing and producing of American ethnic relationship, and try to find the places can learn a lesson. Hope can contribute my strength for the research of Chinese ethnic policies.America is a young immigrant country, at the beginning of forming, there are complicated ethnic relationships. The white with Indians, the black, Asian, and the white belong to different races; they came from different cultural background. The time they came to the New World is different and the development degree also is different. The main nationality is Anglo-Saxon. So under the influence of main culture——Anglo-Saxon culture, when dealing the ethnic issues, always putting the white benefit on the first place. American ethnic policies do not have a whole set of law. In different times, there are different policies, like:the genocidal policy, policy of national assimilation, multicultural policy. From these policies, we can find the process that America's attitude change from deny minorities to affirm it. It is a process to make up missed lessons step by step.China is a unified multi-ethnic country since ancient time. Harmonious co-existence among ethnic groups is tradition, and forms a pattern of unity in diversity. After the founding of new China, this unity has been improved to another new level. The ethnic policies of China are based on the national equality and unity, in ethnic minorities'area carrying out the policy on national regional autonomy, and taking the development of minorities'area as an important strategic mission.Practice has proved that our ethnic policies are advanced. We insist Marxist ethnic equality and carry out national autonomy policy. Indiscriminately imitating and flaunting American ethnic and racial policies do not accord with our national conditions.
