New Youth Group Human Rights Thought Research

The School of New Youth intellectual groups discussed in this paper, is a group of excellent thinkers and cultural pioneers mainly including Chen Duxiu, Hu Shi, Li Dazhao, Gao Yihan, Lu Xun, Zhou Zuoren and Cai Yuanpei. As a consequen-ce of the bitter history, patriotic intellectuals represented by the School Of "New Youth" realized that the survival of the nation can not only rely on the political reform or revolution, but also need to carry out ideological and cultural revolution, in particular, the transformation of ideology and public awareness, which is so called "the reform of the national personality". Since 1915, through the magazine, Youth Magazine, the School of New Youth criticized the federal traditional thoughts and federal ethics which are cored on the Confucianism for thousands of years, and proposed the slogan of "Down with Confucianism" in an effort to advocate individual values and complete self-liberation.This paper undertakes a more comprehensive research on the views of the human rights of the School of New Youth via a multi-angle and multi-level exploration. There are there main points:the first is the origins of the views about the human rights of the School of New Youth, mainly discussing the concepts of human rights and the School of New Youth, as well as the background of the formation of their thoughts; the second is the key point of their views of human rights, including four parts, the independence of personality, the freedom, the civic consciousness and the women's liberation;-the last is a comparative study in the views of human rights of the New Youth, mainly focusing on two angels, the differences and characteristics of the representative figures'views of human rights.Lifting up the flag of human rights, the School of New Youth has launched a vigorous enlightenment, whose thoughts of the personality independence, freedom, rights, national politics, and women's liberation still have been playing a positive role in building a harmonious socialist society today. Nevertheless, we should also be aware that these thoughts still cannot get rid of its historic limitations.
