Research On Chen Duxiu's "New Youth" Concept Of Happiness

Chen Duxiu,as the chief leader of the new cultural movement,the commander-in-chief in the period of the May fouth,one of the founders of the Communist Party of China and a propagandist for early Marxism in China,who has witnessed a great historical change in the modern history of China.Therefore,the study of the outlook on happiness by Chen Duxiu's New Youth firstly should focus on his special background of the times and the complex and diverse ideological origins.Based on the outlook on happiness of tradition and Marx,and the special group of New Youth,this paper systematically discusses the content structure the outlook on happiness by Chen Duxiu and its value of the times.The generatin of Chen Duxiu's New Youth outlook on happiness is not only a reflection of traditional society and thoughts in modern Chinese,but also deeply influenced by western modern thoughts and various new thoughts.At the same time,Chen Duxiu as an early Marx,his thought are also the inheritance and development of Marx's outlook on happiness.The outlook on happiness by Chen Duxiu doesn't abandon the thought of outlook on happiness that traditional Chinese contained,but to some degree has a criticism and absorption of it.The outlook on happiness by Chen Duxiu criticizes the abstinence and selfishness of the traditional outlook on happiness,meanwhile,it also absorbs the parts of the traditional outlook on happiness that conforms to the social development.New Youth as a unique group,Chen Duxiu also puts forward the advice and endows special mission of the era with them when defining the connotation of New Youth.For the outlook on happiness,Chen Duxiu not only puts happiness on three levels: new nation,new society and new individual,but also gives a relatively comprehensive framework for the outlook on happiness.On the new national level,the outlook on happiness focuses on four aspects: political democracy,ethical awakening,educational revolution and literary reform.On the new social level,the outlook on happiness embodies in four aspects: equality of human rights,justice of treatment,perfection of legal system and ideological emancipation.On the individual level,the outlook on happiness is illustrated in four aspects: rational patriotism,ideal personality,strong body and lofty pursuit.Finally,the research puts the foothold on the value of the times that New Youth' outlook on happiness by Chen Duxiu.On the one hand,Chen Duxiu's outlook on happiness is the inheritance and development of Marx doctrine.On the other hand,New Youth's outlook on happiness by Chen Duxiu has certain inspiration and guidance role for contemporary youth and social life.The content of happiness is not static.With the change of the times,happiness can be endowed with new connotation of the times.Happiness also varies from person to person,and different ideal pursuit differs in the interpretation of happiness.As the pace of building a socialist harmonious society accelerating,the happiness level of people as a standard for social progress has attracted much attention.Today's society is in a critical period of transformation and reform,and social value is diversified,both of which maks people question the real connotation of the outlook on happiness.Therefore,based on the background of constructing socialist harmonious society and the inheritance of the outlook on happiness by Marx,the research on the view of happiness by Chen Duxiu can guide people to establish the correct values and pursue a more comprehensive outlook on happiness.
