With the policy of reform and opening up,China has obtained considerable development in political, economic, cultural and social fields. Our country has become prosperous increasingly, people's living standard has raised and rejuvenation of the nation is just around the corner. But behind the prosperity, there are some signs of disharmony, which are the activities carried out by some separatist from the minority and illegal activities conducted by anti-scientific or anti-social extreme forces.Powers like these have a bad influence and set up obstacles against the development of our harmonious society and the rise of China. In recent years, sect as a controversial organization are being concerned by China's political and academic circles.People focus on discussing not only the definition of sect and qualitative issues, but also people's attitude towards it and management-related issues. In this study, based on a comprehensive analysis of the meaning and the development status of the group both domestic and abroad,we assume sect's range is wide including religion, cults and other cults. It is extremely urgent to enforce the legal management against sect, which is a realistic demand and also a significant element to the policy of building a country under the socialist rule of law. It's also needed to maintain the lasting political stability and reassure a stabilized production and lives. The focus of this study is the legal management of sect, which includes religion, heresy and other cults.Only by doing this can we be able to provide a better guiding theory for people to discriminate cults, create a righteous environment for the people in society to think, and eventually to clear the obstacles and set-backs along the way for us to rejuvenate our great nation.
