China's recent engagement in Sudan has attracted a lot of attention;China has become a major economic force in Sudan with a huge amount of trade, investment and aid. Some criticism,if not a demonization of China not to mention vilification,China has been facing from the international media and community especially from the western entities due to its relations with Sudan, precisely after the outbreak of the war in Darfur and China considered by many to be responsible of the crisis in Darfur simply because of the China's support of the central government in Khartoum. This study tries to examine the China's role in Sudan and its impact on Sudan's peacemaking process,as well as the influences of China on the Sudanese domestic politics and the limitations of China's role in Sudan, economic growth,China-Darfur debate and the demands of international community. In addition, how does China balance between its interests in Sudan and the international demands upon China regarding its relations with Sudan. Also the study seeks to understand what are driving forces of China's involvement in Sudan and China's impact on Sudanese peacemaking operations.Based on my findings,I argue that:-China has significant influence and role in Sudanese political dynamics.-China has remarkable role in Sudan's economic growth.-China has balance between its interests in Sudan and the demands of the international community.
