The number of women accounts for more than half of the world's population,but women's participation rate is merely 22.6 per cent.While women's political participation not only can reflect the real meaning of gender equality and the maintaining of women's rights and interests,but also can effectively use women's advantage resources and there different social performance to realize public welfare of the whole society.That means women's political participation cannot only be restricted by the crucial positions held by females in the government and the state department.It also stands for women's social performance via various methods.Hence,it is the achievement of gender equality in politics and the improvement of females' political participation rate that are the core objectivity of the world's governments and organizations around the world.The complicated ethnic,religious and sovereign conflict of Northern Ireland(NI)led to the 30 years conflict.NI has formed a deep-rooted patriarchal society under the multiple roles of traditional religious culture and NI conflict.The 1998 Good Friday Agreement(GFA)ends the multiple conflict of NI,it also makes NI become the good example of the peaceful solution on a global scale.It is worth to mention that women not only participate in complex NI conflict,but promote the development of the peace process.Thus,the complicated NI conflict reflects females' crucial role in politics(war&peace).NI's women use practical action to challenge the traditional gender culture.Besides,when NI's women compare to other females in conflict areas such as South Africa,the Middle East and Bosnia,the modes of women's political participation in NI are the real or potential peacemaker,which lead to the significant value of NI's females.However,the patriarchal society ignores women's crucial role in the peace process.Then the improvement of NI's women has been the resolved issue.More importantly,China's gender culture is deeply affected by western gender culture.Moreover,China's female politics face the same issues with NI's women politics.This leads to the study of NI's female politics can provide enlightenment for the development of China's female politics.Of course,in this process,China's own features of gender culture cannot be neglected.Therefore,this dissertation bases on the current global situation of women's political participation and the backdrop of the complex political problems within NI.From the theoretical perspective,this paper will employ the theory of feminism in nationalist research.From the perspective of research approaches,this paper will synthetically apply the literature survey,quantitative research,qualitative research and the comparative approach to collect data and information.Based on the timeline,this dissertation will discuss the crucial role of women for the society development from historical angle at first.Then this paper will analyze the policy measures,consequences as well as issues' manifestation for the improvement of NI's female political participation and the achievement of gender equality within NI in order to analyze the barriers in developing NI's female politics.Basing on the above analysis,this paper will conclude the success and deficiency of modern female politics in NI and also the reasons of them.In view of the successful experience of developing women's politics of other nations in the worldwide,this dissertation will offer the route choice for the future development of NI's female politics.Thereafter,this study will employ the comprehensive method to analyze the reference of NI's female politics to Chinas' women's politics.Finally,the conclusion will conclude the whole research and discuss the significant role of developing women's politics for the sustainable development of the society.
