Study Of Chinese Female Officials At Present

China is a country of strongly advocating equality between men and women. It is no longer a fresh thing that women are widely involved in the national and social affairs. But the actual situation of female in politics is different from the legal text, for example, a small number and low rate of Chinese female officials, less female in the core leadership positions while a few as the chief, and female officials almost in charge of science、 education、 culture and health departments. These problems have caused more and more concerns, females in senior leadership positions can reflect their special interests and requirements, contribute to the country’s scientific and democratic decision-making, and also promote the development of democratic politics construction. Thus the study of the current female officials is very necessary.Firstly, this article describes the basic situation of female in politics in different periods, lists the systems and laws, and summary the current situation of female officials in different levels. Then, selects the female officials at present in Jiangsu Province as samples, analyses their age, political affiliation, educational background, growth path and other aspects, while comparing with Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Prefecture.Statistics show:Jiangsu Province has done a good job on female talent program, and gone ahead around the whole country both in quality and quantity. However, the proportion of female officials is much lower than male, and the promotion way is single.There are many reasons for the unsatisfactory situation, not only females’ own factors, but also social, organizational and any other factors, including role conflict, traditional gender norms, Center-Edge structure and so on. How to change the status of female officials to promote women’s political participation in power is a comprehensive and systematic project. The only way to build a good environment for female officials is combined the top-level design and the whole society’s efforts. Give full play to the advantage of women’s leadership, and make more and more women become officials in high positions.
