It is well known that American philanthropy is very prosperous,but the current domestic research on American philanthropy tends to introduction and qualitative analysis.This is not only because the Chinese philanthropy has just started and urgent to understand mature mature experience in other countries,but also because the current domestic social science lacks the habit of quantitative research.Therefore,based on the latest statistics from abroad,this paper quantifies the details of the organization development,donation amount and volunteer service of American philanthropy,and shows the charity habit,volunteer tradition,charitable organization with credibility,and family education cultivating charity culture accurately,providing a practical entrance for our understanding of American philanthropy.Philanthropy is an essential part of modern social security system,American philanthropy plays an important role in American social security system.Philanthropy,social relief system,social insurance system,social welfare system and commercial insurance constitute the multi-level social security system in the United States together.Although the philanthropy and other social security system in the United States have focused on different subject,object and content,they are both institutional forms based on the ethical relationship of human mutual assistance,and redistribution of social wealth in the pursuit of social justice.American philanthropy has in fact become an important force in the US social assistance system.Unlike the social and democratic welfare countries represented by the Nordic countries,the United States developed philanthropy can save a lot of public expenditure for the US government each year,which is about 10%of American GDP.Therefore,the American philanthropy and the American social security system are linked,and its role has not only confined to civil behavior and deeply into the construction process of public order.American philanthropy has unique historical origin and cultural tradition.The United States is an immigrant country whose initial immigrants came from Europe,especially the British majority.With the arrival of the "Mayflower" Puritans5Christian charity traditions and British charity ideas began to spread in the American continent.Social feedback consciousness in Christian doctrine has become the origin of the US charity initiative and inherent genes.In all ages,the United States seems to never lack a good philanthropy pioneer,whether it is the "Mayflower" Puritan leader John Winthrop,British Quebec gentleman William Bin,Coton · Mather who writes?Good deeds?,the United States father Benjamin Franklin,or Bill Gates,Buffett and so on.They all made asignificant contributions for the development of American philanthropy.The most fundamental reason for the continued prosperity of American philanthropy is its mature and specific system of norms.Perfect legislation system,the proper supervision mechanism of government social,strict internal operation process of philanthropy organization,establish rules for charity activities and establish maintenance mechanism,standardize the development path of charity,and promote the continuous prosperity of American charity,and then promote the development and improvement of the social security system.The US government has given a lot of free space for philanthropy and has given enough policy and service support.The purpose of institutional norms is not the constraintion itself,but the better development of philanthropy.Through the form of establishing systems,The United States determines what need to restrict,indemnities what need to indemnity,and leaves enough space for the free play.The mature system design on the philanthropy of The United States,can provide some useful institutional references for other countries in the world.
