ObjectiveTo investigate long-term care needs and its influencing factors among old people with disabled elderly in nursing homes in rural area of Liaoning,so as to provide reference basis of disabled elderly long-term care service content.MethodsA total of 315 disabled elderly in nursing home were recruited using convenience sampling method in nursing homes in rural area of Liaoning,and were investigated with the general information questionnaire,ability assessment for older adults,social support rating scale and long-term care mode questionnaire.The data were analyzed by the SPSS20.0.General information of the disabled was used by descriptive analysis,variance analysis and t-test were used to analyze the difference between characteristics and long-term care service scores,Spearman rank correlation test and Pearson correlation test were used to analyze the relations of different characteristics and long-term care service scores,multiple linear regression were used to analyze the influencing factors.P<0.05 with statistical significance.ResultsThe highest scoring dimension of disability elderly long-term care needs was health care(22.86±5.68),followed by daily life care(19.89±6.73),lowerscores were spiritual comfort(15.62 ± 7.55)and social involvement(11.68 ±6.25).The highest percentage services of mild,moderate and severe disabled elderly were respectively regular family visit(64.2%),assisting with taking the medicine(80.2%)and assisting with bathing(88.6%).Age,educational level,marital status,number of chronic diseases and ability levels of the disabled were different scores(P<0.05).The correlation coefficient between age,educational level,marital status,number of chronic diseases,ability levels,social support scores and long-term care needs scores was 0.172 to 0.852(P<0.01).Multiple regression analyses were used to identify that age,marriage,ability level and social support being major factors affecting long-term care needs.ConclusionsThe severe disabled,advanced age,without a spouse and low social support of the elderly should be paid more attention in nursing homes.Light and moderate disabled elderly demand for long-term care services are mainly concentrated in health care services,as the degree of disability is aggravating,daily life care is becoming more.The government and nursing homes should establish long-term evaluation standards and interaction mechanism with the medical institutions,so as to provide sustained and effective long-term care services for disabled elderly. |
