In the language context of Chinese and Western culture,practice and wisdom are closely linked and inextricable.In the field of Marx philosophy,the practical wisdom is one that emphasises the value orientation and rational ability based on the acknowledgment of “practical nature” of the intelligence activities of humankind.It is a wisdom that deals with the relationship between humankind and the world by a practical way of thinking,and it is also a wisdom that conforms to the “purposiveness” and “regularity” and one that respects the unity of objective law and subjective initiative.During the grand historical process of chinalisation of Marxism,Mao Zedong practical wisdom is playing a critically important role undoubtedly.Along with the anti-corruption movement since the 18 th CPC(Communist Party of China)National Congress and the further development of reform and opening-up in China,Mao Zedong practical wisdom with the main contents of seeking truth from facts,mass line and independence has been under spotlight among the public in China society again.It is the overall benchmarking for us to adhere to our vision and belief and to supplement our spirit.However,for a long-term period,the understanding of Mao Zedong Thought always stayed on the perspective of textbook and theoretical system,besides it was rarely mentioned to the practical wisdom which is contained in Mao Zedong Thought system.This resulted in a trend of making Mao Zedong Thought a kind of doctrine and fragmentation system.This research consists of the introduction and five chapters.The first chapter begins with the discussion and definition of “wisdom” and “practical wisdom” based on the context of etymology,the Chinese and Western cultural background and Marxism,and points out that “Mao Zedong practical wisdom” is the one which is suited for the society of China by taking consideration of China's objective and particular conditions,and comprises of various decision-making and strategy wisdoms in terms of economy,politics,military affairs and ideological education.It is also a wisdom that was applied onto the specific situations of China's revolution and construction converted from the Marxism wisdom with the universal truth introduced by Mao Zedong.Mao Zedong practical wisdom is deeply rooted in the Chinese brilliant cultural traditions,and it was the outcome of modern and contemporary Chinese social and cultural transformation.It delivers the pursuits of a rational society and expresses the value orientation of the public's interests.It is the life-orientated and actualised expression of Mao Zedong Thought particularly the Mao Zedong Philosophy Thought.It is contained in the whole system of Mao Zedong Thought as a part of mechanism and spirit.The second chapter provides a deep analysis of the formation of Mao Zedong practical wisdom,through analysing three aspects of the breeding of revolutionary activities in the early age,the influence of traditional philosophy and culture and the understanding of social nature and the revolutionary road in modern China.Further,it emphasises the explanation and discussion of social nature and the revolutionary road in modern China by Mao Zedong,which is the most brilliant portion of his practical wisdom.The third chapter discusses Mao Zedong practical wisdom in politics,military affairs and ideological education respectively,and it considers the New Democracy theory as the most significant one in his political practice wisdom,and as the soul of wisdoms in economy,military affairs and education.Chapter four explains various characteristics of Mao Zedong practical wisdom: the authenticity-orientated attitude in the investigation and research,the spirit of opposition to dogmatism,the thinking way and the value orientation of mass line,the effort of keeping the simple and true characters among the Chinese folk traditions,and finally,to transform to a way of living which displays the nature of seeking truth from facts.Chapter five raises a conclusion which displays a revelation of Mao Zedong practical wisdom for the present age: to make a “down-to-earth(practical)” type of investigation and research prevail in the whole society;to take the road of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics requires to learning from the Western but to opposing the Westernisation;to always keep in mind the purpose of CPC,and to adhere to the socialist values and ideals;to continuously absorb nutrition from cultural traditions;and to strive to make “Seeking truth from facts” the code of conducts among all the social stratum in the society.
