The Research Of Relation Between The United States And The Philippines After The Cold War

After the cold war,the international power structure changes.because of disappearance of Soviet Union disappeared,Philippine and the United States reduced military cooperation.Hence,the relation of alliance has loosened.After the 9.11 incident,in order to eliminate the threat of terrorism,the United States launched a global war on terrorism.At the same time,Philippine is also deeply influenced by the threat of terrorism,so,Philippine chose to join the alliance of the United States in the war against terrorism,the US-Philippine relation of alliance gradually become closer.With the warming of the situation in the South China Sea and China's rise in the Asia Pacific region,on one hand,Philippine feel threatened from China's rise,and its national power was not enough to handle with.On the other hand,the Obama administration in the process of implementation of the "Asia Pivot strategy",rendering China threat,need to use "freedom of navigation" to put pressure on China.The same threat of these two countries leads to consolidation of U.S.-Philippine alliance.
