Singapore was once a country with sharp ethnic conflict,which has been influenced Singapore's economic development and national security for a long time.However,Singapore's local social groups have achieved mutual assistance and harmony for decades.The differences between Chinese,Malays,Indians and other ethnic groups are no longer a barrier and different ethnic groups can live together in the same area and participate in the same community activities.Because Singapore government has adopted a series of measures to ethnic governance,so the country effectively easing the contradiction between ethnic groups and promote the communication and understanding of ethnic groups.Among them,the housing system plays an indispensable role.Singapore's housing system not only solves the problem of their national housing security,but also promotes the integration of ethnic groups as well as the communication and exchange of ethnic groups,so as to set the foundation for racial harmony.It is found that the implementation of Singapore HDB system provides a solid material guarantee for the consolidation of ethnic harmony.The construction of the housing has broken the original pattern of ethnic groups;the allocation of housing builds a new pattern of ethnic groups living;the basic organization of the housing links ethnic groups to a network;the common values in the housing group have established common norms and values in different ethnic groups and finally,the space design of the housing has strengthened the contact among the various ethnic groups,and has promoted the communication and exchange.These measures from the housing system effectively promote the integration of all races from many aspects,shape the national identity of ethnic groups in Singapore and settle the foundation for Singapore's economic growth and prosperous.
